Booking & payment

How do I book a car?

Search for a car, pick your dates and pickup option, and you'll see the full price. Tap "Book" and pay the 15% reservation deposit online to confirm. You'll get a confirmation email with your booking summary, and your host's contact details appear on your booking page.

How does payment work?

You pay a 15% reservation deposit online to lock in the car. The remaining 85% you pay your host directly at pickup, using the payment methods they accept (shown on your booking). You see the full price before you book, with nothing added in between.

What is the deposit I pay online?

It's 15% of the total, paid when you book, to confirm the car and hold your dates. It comes off the price, not on top of it: the remaining 85% is what you pay your host at pickup.

Can I change my booking?

You can propose new dates directly from your booking page with "Change dates"; the change applies once your host accepts. For anything else, message your host through the booking. Changes are up to the host and their availability.

Can I cancel, and do I get a refund?

Yes — you can cancel any time from your booking page. Cancel at least 48 hours before pickup and your 15% reservation deposit is refunded in full. Within 48 hours of pickup the deposit is not refunded; it covers the late cancellation. You're never charged the remaining 85%. If the host cancels, your deposit is always refunded in full.

Pickup & return

Where do I pick up the car?

Each host picks which pickup options they offer, and you'll see them on the listing before you book. Depending on the host, that can be at the airport, at the cruise terminal, from the host's own location, or the car delivered to your hotel or address. Once you've booked, you settle the exact spot and time with your host through messages.

Can I pick up at the airport?

Often, yes. Many hosts offer airport pickup or have the car ready for you at arrivals. If a host does, you'll see it as a pickup option on the listing before you book.

What if I'm running late for pickup?

Message your host as soon as you know. Pickup is arranged directly between you and the host, so a quick heads-up usually sorts it out.

How does fuel work?

Fuel is arranged with your host. The common arrangement is full-to-full: pick the car up full and bring it back full. Confirm the exact arrangement with your host through messages before pickup.

How do I return the car?

Return it at the agreed time and place, settle anything outstanding with your host, and hand back the keys. Your host confirms the return.

Deposit, insurance & damage

How do insurance and the security deposit work?

GoDushi doesn't sell insurance and doesn't hold a security deposit. Each car carries the host's own rental insurance, and some hosts ask for a refundable cash or card hold at pickup; both are arranged with your host directly, so ask through messages if you want the details before your trip. One thing worth knowing: car insurance from abroad usually doesn't cover the Dutch Caribbean, so it's worth checking your own travel cover before you go.

What if something happens to the car?

Damage is settled directly with your host, based on a repair estimate. If you can't agree, use "Report a problem" on your booking and GoDushi will mediate. Money paid directly to the host never passes through us, so we can help resolve it and flag a host, but we can't refund it ourselves.

What if the host doesn't show up?

Call or message your host first; their phone number is on your booking page. If the car really isn't handed over, use "Report a problem" on your booking and choose "car not delivered". That's within GoDushi's power to fix: we hold your 15% reservation deposit and can refund it in full. If the host cancels the booking themselves, the deposit is refunded automatically.

When do refunds arrive?

When a refund is due, it goes back to the payment method you paid with. Refunds usually take a few business days to appear, depending on your bank.

Requirements & trust

Is GoDushi safe to book with?

GoDushi is built for the Dutch Caribbean, and every car comes from a real, registered local rental business. You only pay the 15% reservation deposit online; the remaining 85% you settle in person with the host at pickup.

What licence do I need, and how old do I have to be?

A valid driver's licence and usually a minimum age of 21, though some hosts set it higher. The exact age requirement is on every listing. In the Dutch Caribbean most foreign licences are generally accepted without an international permit, but check with your host if you're unsure.
