The life of a booking
Bookings & handovers · 1 min read
Every booking moves through a fixed set of statuses. Here is what each one means for you.
Pending
A renter is in checkout. The car is held for 20 minutes so nobody else can grab the same dates while they pay. If the payment does not complete, the hold simply expires and the dates open up again, you never need to do anything with a pending booking.
Confirmed
The renter paid the reservation deposit online. The dates are now locked on your calendar, you both get a confirmation, and the chat thread is open. This is when you would arrange pickup details.
Active
You checked the renter in, the trip is running. From here the return is the next milestone.
Completed
You checked the car back out, or the system closed the trip automatically a day after the planned return if no check-out was recorded. The renter can now leave a review (they have 14 days).
Cancelled and disputed
Cancelled bookings release their dates immediately. Disputed means the renter raised a formal issue, see the dispute article for how to respond.
Good to know
New bookings can only start at least 2 hours in the future, and the system keeps your turnaround buffer (Settings → Calendar) free between two bookings of the same car, so you always have time to clean and reset.
